Founder Dick Taylor Honored During Private Event

Honorary Display Unveiled During 40th Anniversary Year

East Rochester, N.Y. – On Wednesday, May 22nd, friends and family gathered with past and present employees to honor Richard “Dick” Taylor, one of the original founders of R-J Taylor General Contractors (now DBA TAYLOR – The Builders) a leading regional and national commercial General Contractor. The private event featured an honorary display unveiling in the company’s main conference room, followed by a catered cocktail hour for Dick to reminisce about past construction projects and generations of successful growth for the firm during its 40th Anniversary year.

The honorary display, which featured images of Dick, his wife Nancy, family, and past projects, reads as follows:

Established as R-J Taylor, General Contractors in 1984, by leveraging long-term relationships, Richard Taylor saw opportunity in design build where he could be an integral part of a team, helping projects move from concept through design and construction.

Richard “Dick” Taylor forged his own path to success through hard work, determination, and hands-on experience. Starting as a humble mason in Cleveland, Ohio, Dick quietly established his own style of project management and leadership skills, with subsequent ownership on the horizon. More than that, Dick showed how all people, owner, subcontractor, should be treated in a fair business relationship.

Today, because of Dick’s vision and leadership, TAYLOR – The Builders has evolved with their clients, growing, and changing to meet their needs. We are forging new links for the future, combining tomorrow’s technology with our strengths of honesty and integrity from the past.

Led by current President, Karl Schuler, and his team of builders, TAYLOR will continue to expand upon more than 40 years of knowledge, experience, and satisfied clients throughout its anniversary year in 2024 and beyond. Just as Dick Taylor once stated to Karl, “I felt confident we had the job once the steel was up…”, exciting new construction projects and developments will be announced once that specific milestone is met!
